Juliette caused extensive damage in La Paz and the surrounding area. Roads north and south were closed. More than 300 trees fell taking power and phone lines with them. A number of vehicles were crushed by falling trees. Power and water were out for 4 days and many water pumps and wells were damaged. Many boats dragged their anchors with several traveling all the way to El Centenario where they went aground. Quite a few washed up on the Magote as well. Many cruisers expressed their thanks for help and assistance from others; however, a number of cruisers thought there should have been a much better response from the crusing community. A number of boats that went aground were vandalized and equipment was stolen. One of the stolen items was the Club Cruceros Emergency Pump which had been loaned to a boat that was taking on water.
